Rebirth

With the shock of looking at the date of the last post wearing off, I'm ready to start afresh with this blog. I have no visions of grandiosity here; it's just a little corner of the interweb where I can collect my thoughts. Anyone who's reading this already knows why and where I'm going, but in the off chance I get hit by a bus and need to fill in some retrograde memory, I'll just mention here that I'm going to the National STD and Leprosy Control Center in Nanjing, China for my research year abroad. My gratitude to the Fogarty International Center!

After taking my Step 2 CK on July 1st, I enjoyed my last halcyon days in Madison. My training entails two weeks of "Global Health Camp" at the NIH and a University of Washington STD/HIV research principles course. Presently I'm still in Seattle, WA, and I'm actually sitting in a MTC transmission powerpoint lecture multi-tasking, thanks to U-dub's speedy (and free) wifi! In a couple days, I'll be heading home to CA to spend precious time with Mike and family. On August 4th, some time around noon, I'll be setting off to Nanjing via Beijing. I'll have to bring my own SCDs.
